Privacy Policy
This policy explains how BRDY Studios, LLC (United States) processes information in Cosmic XR — Space In Your Room and through this website. The core Cosmic XR experience does not require an internet connection or a BRDY Studios account. The app does not include advertising or third-party in-app analytics. Optional purchases, entitlement checks, and DLC downloads require the platform's online services.
In-App Purchases and Downloadable Content
On Meta Quest, Cosmic XR uses the Meta Horizon Platform SDK for optional in-app purchases and downloadable content (DLC), such as the Exoplanet pack. The app receives and processes the following data from Meta:
- Purchase and entitlement information: purchase records for the signed-in platform account, including product identifiers (SKUs), and purchase or ownership status. Platform purchase responses may also include purchase identifiers and grant or expiration times. The app uses the matching product and ownership status to unlock content, restore purchases, and avoid asking you to buy content you already own.
- Checkout results: purchase completion, cancellation, or error information, used to update the purchase screen and provide appropriate feedback.
- DLC delivery information: asset identifiers, entitlement status, download and installation status, downloaded byte counts, and local file paths, used to download, locate, and load purchased content and display progress.
The app also retrieves product descriptions and localized prices from Meta to display available purchases. Payment is handled by Meta's checkout. BRDY Studios does not receive your payment card number or billing credentials. Cosmic XR does not request your Meta profile photo, friends list, or location for this functionality.
Where Purchase Data Is Processed
Purchase checks and DLC downloads communicate with Meta's services over the internet. Cosmic XR processes the returned information on your device; it does not upload these purchase records to a BRDY Studios server or maintain a separate BRDY Studios purchase database. The app may use Meta's on-device durable purchase cache when a live ownership check is unavailable. Meta maintains the underlying platform account and transaction records under its own policies.
Hand Tracking and Passthrough
The headset platform processes sensor data for tracking and passthrough. Cosmic XR processes headset and controller poses and hand joint or gesture inputs locally to position the view and enable interaction. Passthrough displays your surroundings through the platform. We do not upload or retain hand tracking data, camera imagery, or room scans on BRDY Studios servers.
Local App Data
Settings and progress may be stored locally on your device. You can remove this local data by deleting the app, subject to platform-level backups or settings controlled by Meta.
Sharing and Platform Services
We do not sell personal information or use purchase or tracking data for advertising. Meta provides distribution, checkout, entitlement, DLC delivery, device services, and platform diagnostics. Its processing is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy. Other supported stores and headset platforms operate under their own privacy policies; the Meta IAP and DLC processing described above applies to the Meta Quest version.
Institutional Licensing Inquiries
If you submit the institutional licensing inquiry form on this website, BRDY Studios receives the organization, contact, deployment, budget, and project information you choose to provide. We use it only to evaluate and respond to your inquiry. The submission is delivered to our business email and may be retained as business correspondence. It is not sold or used for advertising.
If you contact us for support or privacy requests, we process your email address and the information you choose to send to respond to your request. Our website uses Cloudflare for hosting and spam protection, and our business email uses IONOS. These providers process the technical or correspondence data needed to deliver those services; the website inquiry form is separate from the app's IAP processing.
Retention and Deletion Requests
Runtime purchase and download state is held on the device while needed to provide access to content. Downloaded files and local app settings remain until removed. Meta manages its own purchase cache and transaction records. Support and inquiry correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the request and related business or legal obligations.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by BRDY Studios, email [email protected] with the subject Cosmic XR Data Deletion Request. Tell us which information you want deleted and, if relevant, the email address you used to contact us. Do not send passwords or payment card details. We may ask for the minimum information necessary to verify the request. We will delete data under our control unless retention is required by law, and explain any applicable limitation.
You can clear locally stored app data through your device's app storage settings, where available, or uninstall the app. Platform backups may restore local data; manage those separately through your platform settings. Removing local app data does not cancel a purchase or erase Meta's transaction records. For Meta-held account or transaction data, use the controls and contact options in the Meta Privacy Policy. We can explain which data we hold, but cannot delete records controlled by Meta.
Children's Privacy
Cosmic XR does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians should use the parental controls and age requirements provided by the Meta Quest platform.
Changes to This Policy
If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect.
